I want to live my best life. That means sometimes making
changes. So I’m changing. I’m coming up to the end of my Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled
Nurse qualification) and I’m still nervous but I’m getting more confident. Part
of that confidence means being brave enough to make changes I’ve considered.
Like Environmental sustainability. It’s impossible to live a cruelty free life,
but my goal is to reduce it and to reduce my carbon footprint (because you can’t
really make the world a better place for nothing can you?) but I will be
working in one of, if not THE most wasteful industry. Don’t get me wrong. It’s justified
(sometimes) infection control yadda yadda. But I make changes in my personal
life to reduce my impact. I use reusable mugs, I pinch ideas from Lush’s sustainable ideas like using a cotton tea towel, and I just bought compact
reusable cutlery so now I can say when I get take out “I don’t need cutlery
thank you”. Sure it’ll save big business a few bucks. But that’s one less
cutlery in landfill. I’m notorious for losing my bottles, but I have been
reusing my Disposable bottles (I’ve hoarded like 7). I take Public transport
(cost effective when half my week is in the centre of the city), and I’v been
using my scarves as bags when I forget my reusable (which I use when I can). I
wear everything to death. But I guess. What I want to focus on is my change. My
attempts to be more sustainable and we’ll see where this blog goes. Because I
like to dabble. I want to adventure. I want to put my foot, (and my nose) in
everything. So I guess. Enjoy your time, send me feedback and suggestions, and
I’ll start or keep, trying to upload.
P.S. All of this I guess was inspired by an article I read 2 weeks ago, I can't find it but as soon as I do I'll let you know.
Till next time, see you later
